So how can I save you $517.98? Easy, buy the sd cards that I suggest instead of more popular name brand cards, plus, a little known secret, even if you purchase the Sony CF express type a card, you don’t have to have the card reader, you can use the provided usb cable to transfer files directly from your camera. These Sony a7s III memory cards are the best bang for your buck. Sony a7s III cheap memory is a possibility with these Sony a7s III memory options. You can also consider Sony a7s III cfexpress, but I think the Sony a7s III best memory card is the prograde sdxc II v90 option. I’ve used these cards for three weeks and they work great. There are a few interesting Sony a7s III sd card requirements that you need to know about. First, While the Sony a7s III dual recording is a great feature, it will automatically default to the speed of the slowest card you have in the camera. The second thing you need to know is that all Sony a7s III recording modes work with a v90 memory card except for some of the S&Q modes, and if you want to use proxies there are a few other restrictions. However, for most practical purposes you can use all features and recording modes that you would need for 95% of your shots without the Sony a7s III cfexpress needed for the other 5%. Here is a quick list of limitations: V90 can get you all recording modes EXCEPT (Proxies Off) S&Q 4K All-I 120fps processed to 60, 30, or 24 S&Q 4K All-I 60fps processed to 30 or 24. STILL WORKS IF PROCESSED TO 60FPS (NO AUDIO) S&Q 1080 HD All-I 240fps (can still record HD long gop in 240fps) Proxies On creates these additional limitations No S&Q 4K All-I (even 60fps to 60fps no longer works), (no quick motion works either) ***Weird bug (hope they don’t fix it) All S&Q 1080 HS All-I Slow motion and quick motion disabled EXCEPT 120fps processed to 60, 30, or 24 fps.###BECAUSE proxies auto turn off when filming in 120fps. XAVC S- I 4K 60fps, 30 or 24 XAVC S- I HD 60, 30, or 24 CFexpress Type A unlocks everything (with proxies too) You can also check out my free e-book for beginner wedding videographers.
